You do not have to be good…
You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves

  • Authentic Movement

A conscious movement practice that facilitates slowing down, deep inner listening for what is present in body, heart and soul, and mindful witnessing of self and others. It is done without music, sometimes with poetic prompts, and it encourages creative exploration and expression. Previous movement experience, or at least feeling quite comfortable with free unguided movement, is important for this class.

*Email Anna if you're interested in a 2-3 hr. Authentic Movement workshop.

CURRENT MOVEMENT MEDICINE CLASS incorporates some basic authentic movement practices.

  • 5Rhythms

5Rhythms Movement is a liberating and often joyous, cathartic improvisational movement practice which welcomes the mover home into the body and invites free expression through music and creative prompts. No previous dance experience necessary, just a love of music and movement!

There are currently no separate 5Rhythms classes, but Movement as Medicine offers a great, gentle beginners experience, and those with previous 5Rhythms experience are welcome!

  • Movement as Medicine

In her class Movement Medicine, Anna combines elements of 5Rhythms Movement, Authentic Movement and dance therapy with embodiment, mindfulness, relaxation and poetry. At the end of class, there is often an opportunity to give form to one’s movement exploration and inner experience through creative writing or drawing. No dance experience necessary, just willingness and curiosity – the movement is improvisational and bodies of any age and ability can participate!

This class is designed to be a wonderful addition to individual therapy or personal & spiritual growth – for those seeking more connection with Self, and for those who might be healing from anxiety, depression, trauma or burnout and could benefit from an embodied approach to healing. For those practicing IFS (Internal Family Systems) or Jungian Depth Psychology, this class provides a rich playground to explore and embody different parts, and cultivate a more embodied, present inner witness. This creative movement practice can greatly enhance internal process, integration and healing.

Series of 7 classes in a small group, $195.
